Indonesian air operator · AOC 119-079
We fly passengers, cargo and essential supplies to communities across Papua and the rest of Indonesia, with Cessna Grand Caravans, local crews and maintenance support from our sister company in the United States.
More than just another airline name…
Much consideration was put into the naming of our airline nine years ago, and we believe the time has come to share the secret of the name with you.
We believe that one of the most important factors in a successful business is God’s timing.
In the story of Icarus, he made wings of feather and wax, but flew too close to the sun and fell.
The name IKAiROS is a combination of these, with one exception: the small “i” in the middle.
There is no big “I” in success, no big “I” in safety, and no big “I” in the middle of our name, IKAiROS.
Surrounded by God’s protection and timing, we each remain a little “i” in the grand scheme of God’s plan for our company. When the timing is right we will soar carefully, but not too close to the sun.
Every letter in our logo has a special design and meaning, carefully thought out and planned. We see every day the providence of God on our company and on our lives.
We hope to continue for many more years to come with a perfect safety record. The lives of our employees, our customers, and their families are precious to God and precious to us.
We see God’s perfect timing coming to pass in our company as we grow steadily and safely toward a long future in Indonesian aviation…
…and now you know why the name: IKAiROS
What we fly
Many villages in Papua have no road connection. A short airstrip and a reliable aircraft are how rice, fuel, medicine and people get in and out.

Flights for companies, government agencies, missions and families, into paved and unpaved airstrips across Papua.

Rice, fuel, building materials and medical supplies delivered to remote communities, with full-cabin cargo loads.

Fire patrol flights in Sumatra and contract flying for government programs across Indonesia.

Our aircraft are supported by KSNL Aero, our sister company and an FAA Part 145 repair station in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Fleet

Our story
PT Ikairos Air Services was founded in 2017 by Darrin Lofton and Frank Ford of KSNL Aero together with Niko Kogoya, a native Papuan who served on President Joko Widodo's security staff at the Presidential Palace. It was the first airline in Indonesia with partial Native Papuan ownership.
Mr. Kogoya grew up watching missionary aircraft bring rice to his village. Today he serves as Commissioner of the airline, and Ikairos flies the same kind of essential service.
"We have the Bible, we have rice, we have education. What we need are jobs."Papuan community leaders, speaking to our President Director
So we hire locally. Pilots, engineers and ground crew from Papua and across Indonesia work side by side at every base. Our tail carries the portrait of a Papuan chief who, before he passed away, prayed for the success of Ikairos. May it remind everyone who sees it that we are all one race, the human race.
